Riding Centre at Dal
A riding hall with a low noise level
Therese, who operates a riding school business, wanted to establish a riding centre on her farm in Dals-Ed. The solution was a riding hall from Hallbyggarna Jonsereds, which could be built over an existing paddock. The new riding centre at Dal measures 64x25x5 metres (LxWxH).
Interview with Therese, CEO Ridcentret på Dal
What type of riding business do you operate?
I have a riding school with 10 horses and 100 students per week. Now, as the facility has been built at home, I have been able to increase my business.
What is your role at Ridcentret på Dal?
Riding school manager and owner.
What were your needs when you decided to acquire a new riding hall?
We previously rented space at a fabric structure with an inner dimension that was 20×60 metres. I had a paddock at home that was 20×60 metres in size. We decided to develop the land in order to set up a tent. We also investigated the possibility of setting up a conventional fabric structure, which costed way too much.
Why did you choose a fabric structure as a solution?
Partly because it was much easier to fit over the existing riding ground and also because it was so fast to build it. The delivery time was only 5-6 weeks and it only to 15 days to fit it.
What made you choose Hallbyggarna Jonsereds as a supplier?
It felt secure that you had over 50 years’ experience.
How do the horses like the indoor riding stable?
The horses are incredibly happy! It is astonishingly quiet in the fabric structure. I thought it would be noisier when its windy but it makes no sound at all. This may be because I ordered extra lacing, which I would strongly recommend for other indoor riding stable.
How many horses and riders can use the fabric structure at the same time?
Quite a lot. Probably around 20 if you really check it out. But 10 is not a problem.
Do you use the fabric structure for show jumping?
Of course! We intend on having a show jumping competition here in just a few weeks.
Are you satisfied with the new indoor riding stable?
Yes, a lot! Very satisfied. I can warmly recommend a fabric structure for a stable business. I have previously been in contact with others who have this type of solution who also recommended it. A big advantage is that is makes a lot less noise when it rains compared with a sheet metal roof. This is positive as it becomes easier to communicate with the horses and thus makes for a safer ride.
